This handmade bamboo whisk, known as a ‘chasen’ (茶筅), is traditionally used in Japanese tea ceremonies to prepare perfectly smooth matcha. Handcrafted from a single piece of winter-hardened bamboo by specialist chasen artisans in a family workshop that has been crafting these ceremonial masterpieces for generations, each traditional bamboo chasen is truly a unique work of art. It features 100 tines, each of which has been expertly cut, meticulously woven with string, and curled at the tip to allow for the tea to be efficiently whisked to create smooth-tasting matcha — a beautiful work of craftsmanship that will add elegance and sophistication to your daily #MatchaRitual.
